Brew Ha Ha! Introduces Serious Coffee To Delaware Coffee Lovers WILMINGTON, DE (PRWEB) December 12, 2007 Brew Ha Ha! gets serious with the addition of seven serious coffee beverages and fresh-roasted single-estate varietal coffee beans in its 12 store locations. Brew Ha Ha!'s menu additions include traditionally-prepared small but intense specialty coffee beverages, original Brew Ha Ha! signature creations, and a selection of premium French-pressed single-origin coffees. A new coffee-tasting flight pairs chocolates with a sampler of 3 contrasting varietals for the flavor adventurous. Cubano anyone? Or maybe a French-pressed Ethiopian Yirgacheffe? “No other coffee retailer in Delaware and few retailers regionally or even nationally are offering serious coffee on this scale, says Alisa Morkides, owner of Brew Ha Ha! “It takes extensive training, costly equipment, fresh, peak-roasted coffee, and quality-driven baristas to master these intense coffee drinks.” Brew Ha Ha! has also recently introduced its own line of fresh-roasted single-estate varietal coffee beans for sale. These coffees represent the top 3 percent of specialty coffee sold worldwide. Each bag is stamped with a roast date and all coffee that is not sold within a few weeks is removed from the shelves. “You won’t find a roast date on most bags of coffee sold in supermarkets or even at most specialty coffee chains,” says Morkides. “Most coffee is treated as if it lasts forever, when in fact it’s a perishable food product that degrades rapidly after roasting. There’s no comparison between the taste of high-quality, fresh-roasted coffee and over-roasted coffee that sits on a shelf for months or even years.” If this sounds like a challenge to the coffee “status quo,” it is. Morkides believes that most coffee that is billed as “specialty-grade” coffee isn’t necessarily good coffee. “Most specialty coffee served in coffee shops is over-roasted and inexpertly brewed on automatic machines, which means that you need to add lots of milk and sweeteners to overcome the bitter and sour taste. It’s like with a charred steak, where you taste the char and not the underlying flavor of the steak. Over-roasted coffee hides the inherent flavors of the coffee.” It doesn’t have to be this way. Freshly roasted, high-quality coffee beans, brewed to exacting standards, can yield a rich, delicious brew that has the complexity of wine. Brew Ha Ha! is obsessed with taking coffee to the culinary heights that it deserves. “We’re not coffee snobs” says Morkides. “We’re just serious about good coffee. Our customers will still be able to order their favorite coffee drinks at Brew Ha Ha! We’re just adding new drink options that highlight our special focus on the heavenly taste of really good coffee.” The new serious coffee menu will be available in all Delaware Brew Ha Ha! on Monday, January 21.
